About Samuel Pepys

Pepys has come down to us as one of the most famous diarists of all time. However, this unique and vivid document, kept for a decade whilst he was still a young man, should not obscure his other considerable accomplishments. From relatively humble beginnings Pepys rose to positions of power and influence becoming Chief Secretary to the Admiralty, a Member of Parliament and President of the Royal Society.
